Using the Data Importer
This article will explain how you can import your data from the old version to the new NICEIC Cert Software. This includes your address book, test instruments, distribution board library, PAT Certificates, signatures and reminders.
The data importer tool will not bring over your 17th edition certificates or templates. We do have another article on how to create templates here.
To begin, go to Tools > Data Importer.
You will now need to select your type of data from your old NICEIC cert software, for most using the old software, this will be Microsoft Access. You shouldn’t need to put a password in, just keep the default that has been filled in for you.
Next, you will need to select where the data is going, in this case, we will select ‘Access‘. This will then overwrite that database with the information from your old NICEIC software.
Click next and then select the parts you want to import. If you need to import everything, click the ‘Select All’ button and click ‘Next’.
This will now convert all your saved items and you will receive a completion message. Click ‘Finish’ and that’s it.
