Removing Certificates from Field Users
This guide outlines the steps to take if a certificate has been mistakenly assigned to a field user or if the assigned engineer is unable to complete the work.
Resolving the Issue
1. Request the Certificate to Be Returned
a. Contact the assigned engineer and ask them to send the certificate back to the office.
b. Once received, you can reassign the certificate to another engineer.
2. Create a Template for the Certificate (if the engineer is unavailable)
a. If the engineer cannot return the certificate, you can create a template from the assigned certificate and apply it to a new certificate.
b. This will allow you to assign it to a different engineer.
Creating a Template
This process must be completed within the main NICEIC Cert Software database.
- Navigate to the Sent Certs list by clicking on the ‘Sent’ Certificates tab within the Certificates page.

2. Locate the certificate in question, right-click on it, and select ‘Create Template’.

3. Enter a template category and name, then click OK.
The new template will appear in your template list. You can use this template to generate a new certificate and reassign it to another engineer. Follow this guide for instructions.
