Using Automatic Max Zs

Max Zs calculates automatically when you enter data into your circuit rows.

You will receive an alert banner to tell you which fields have missing data or hold an invalid value.

The essential fields are:

• Max Disconnection Time
• Protective Device
• Rating
• Nominal Voltage Uo

Once these details are populated/corrected, the Max Zs will automatically be calculated. See the animation below to see the full process.

You can access the full list of preset calculations in the NICEIC software by going to ‘Tools > Show Max Zs Lookup Tables’ on any certificate.

Clicking on the ‘Plus’ symbol will expand the drop-down, revealing all preset calculations. Any calculation not included in this list—including custom-created ones—will not be automatically calculated by the software.
