Importing Customers via CSV
This article will show you how to import companies and addresses into the NICEIC Cert Software from a CSV file.
First, you’ll need to select the ‘Import’ tool in the ‘Tools’ dropdown menu.
Then you’ll need to decide if you’re importing new companies or new sites for existing companies. Regardless of which option you choose, the following steps will be the same.
The next screen will allow you to select to either create a new CSV file (which will populate the columns for you) or to select from an existing CSV file you’ve already prepared.
All columns in the CSV file relate to a field in the database.
Once you’re happy with the CSV file, you can select how you want it to handle duplicate entries.
You can also select how you want it to recognise each individual company, whether it be by their name, or by a unique account code that you’ve set up for them.
You have a final preview screenshot to make sure that you’re happy with the changes before all the entries are saved to the address book, in case of any last-minute issues with the data itself.
After you save the changes, you should now see them listed in your address book, where you can make any tweaks as you would with other addresses
