Importing Boards, Circuit Details and Test Results
This article will show you how to import boards, circuit details and test results from a CSV file.
You may have other software that allows you to export board details, circuit details and test results, you can copy and paste into CSV and import them into a certificate.
Creating the CSV file
First, you need to be in the certificate you want to import your boards, circuits and test results.
From the certificate select Tools > Import Boards, Circuit Details and Test Results.
Now you can decide to either create a CSV that we provide to fill in or copy and paste your board, circuit details and test result to or select a CSV you have already created, if its different column names you will need to contact us to discuss your CSV being a mapped option for future use.
In this case, we are going to ‘Create a CSV’ and copy-paste results from another sheet.
Below is an example of one board with multiple circuits I want to import. It’s important that all circuits are linked to a board by having the ‘DistributionBoard|Designation’ filled in so the circuits link to that board. As you can see below this is one board with 30 circuits.
It’s also worth noting you don’t need to put the same information in for the board, you can do this on one row.
*Please note, there are more columns for distribution boards. For this article, the CSV is shortened, however, this would still work, and you can cut down on the columns you use if necessary.
Once you’re happy with the CSV, you can save it and look to import it into a certificate.
Importing Boards, Circuits and Test Results
Now you can use the CSV you have created and import this into a cert.
Go back to the certificate and go to Tools > Import Boards, Circuits and Test Results.
Now click ‘Select CSV’ and browse to the location you have saved the CSV file.
You will have the option to clear all existing boards, in this case, we will not be selecting this.
The last section on this screen allows you to ‘Select Import Mapping’. As we are using the default CSV we have provided you won’t need to select an import mapping.
However, if you export your current boards, circuits and test results from other software into another CSV file, then please contact your account manager and we can look to map those fields with the board, circuit and test result fields we provide.
Once you’re happy click ‘Next’.
You can now preview the boards and circuits, you can click on the + sign to see all the circuits. Once you’re happy click ‘Finish’.
The board or boards will now be imported. Let’s have a look at the circuit details page.
