Importing Board Templates
This article will show the steps on how to import your boards from templates on the old software into the new software.
When in NICEIC Cert Software V1, choose a certificate you want to create a template for.
Click on Templates > Create template from this certificate.
You can then enter a category and description and click ‘Ok’.
Your template will now be created.
Next, you will need to go to the new software to import the boards from the template.
Go to Tools > Data Importer.
This screen should then show the location of your old database. If the location hasn’t been selected, click on ‘Browse’ and find the file – typically this will be a ‘…cert2008.mdb’ file.
The new database details will already be selected. Click on ‘Next’.
You can then see the list of data that is available to import. Select the ‘Distribution Board Templates’ drop-down, tick your chosen board and click ‘Next’. Confirm the conversion by clicking ‘Ok’ and the conversion will then be completed.
To then apply this template to a circuit board, select a cert or create a new cert and navigate to the circuit details page.
Click on the three-dot menu icon next to the current board and select ‘Add from library’. Select the board from the list and click ‘Okay’. The board will now be applied to the circuit details.
