Important Sage Account Settings
To access your Sage settings, navigate to the top left corner of Clik Service and click ‘Settings’ > ‘Settings’.

Then select ‘Accounts’ and make sure ‘Enable accounts integration’ > ‘Sage 50/Sage 50Cloud’ are ticked.

The ‘Path’ box here is where you input the location where Sage is set up on your machine, allowing you to connect to its database. You can input your Sage username and password below it to connect Clik to Sage. This will use a license for your Sage, so it’s a good idea to set up a new user for Clik. To learn more about setting up Sage, you can use this guide.

‘Allow users to manually tick the ‘’posted’’ checkbox’ Setting will allow your users to post invoices to Sage by ticking the ‘Posted to accounts’ box.

‘Automatically create new accounts’ Will automatically create new accounts in Sage when you post from Clik to Sage.
The ‘Numbering options’ will dictate whether your Invoice numbers come from Clik or Sage. If you have ‘Use Sage numbers’ > ‘Change Clik invoice/credit numbers to match Sage 50’. Your Invoice numbers will be replaced by Sage’s numbers when you post to Sage.
‘Mark posted records as ‘’printed’’ in Sage’. This will automatically tick the ‘printed’ box in Sage when posted.
‘Allow re-post’ By default, you cannot re-post to Sage. When posted, you will have to un-post the invoice to re-post it. Turning this setting on will allow you to re-post multiple times.
‘Check and use Sage account numbers when creating accounts in Clik.’ This will check Sage for account numbers and use them when creating new accounts in Clik.
‘Use Sage styling when creating account codes’. The format of your account code that copies from how Sage creates account codes.

We will only be discussing important settings for the rest of the guide. I have numbered them for easy following.
- Post as a single item will make all items attached to your invoice appear as one item when posted to Sage.
- Our Ref to Order No will change your Sage order number to match what you have entered in your Clik Invoice Our Ref field.
- Sage 50 Internal Reference. You can choose this to be either the invoice/credit number, our ref or customer ref, it will display in the transactions in Sage as the ‘EXTRef’ (External reference).
- Send Invoice/Credit Notes. This setting will include your notes attached to the invoice or credit in Clik to Sage when posted.
- Post as Product Invoice. This setting will match your CS products to the products in Sage. If Sage does not recognise the product, it will appear as ‘S3’. The format of your invoice in Sage will also change to ‘Product’, whereas it would normally say ‘Service’.
Post Stock Adjustments with SI transactions. This setting requires the above setting to be selected. If you are using Sage as your stock system, this setting will remove any stock from Sage when a recognised item is posted from an invoice. - Append job sheet work done to first item will carry your ‘Actual work done’ to Sage as a new item. This will only work if the invoice was created from a job sheet first.

Unit of Sale/Purchase
Incorporate unit of SALE into (Sales Invoices/Credits). This setting allows you to put the unit of sale as the price each of a whole unit in Sage rather than the quantity.
Incorporate unit of PURCHASE into (purchase orders). This does the same as the above setting but specifically for PO’s.

- Use only customer/supplier nominal codes when posting Invoices, Credits, POs, and PIs. If this setting is ticked, posting from Clik will use the nominal code set from the customer/supplier in the Financial tab of that customer’s company in the CRM.
Use only customer/supplier dept when posting Invoices, Credits, POs and PIs. This pulls specifically the ‘Accounts Dept’ from the same section as above when posting.

- Use Engineer nominal code uses the nominal code from the rates tab of your engineer in the staff module.

- Address field mapping. This setting allows you to choose the order the address appears when posting to Sage. For example, ‘Postcode’ by default is mapped to line 5, but you could change this to appear first by putting it in line 1.
- Sage 50 Projects will be on by default. This allows you to post specific Invoices to a specific project in Sage where you can get an overview of all that has happened with that specific project/customer. This can show you how many Invoices and Credits have been posted.
Update projects. Clicking this button will search Sage for any new projects that can link to Clik for future posting.
