Backing Up Photos
Please note that maintaining backups of your photo data is your responsibility and we do not have a backup solution for your photos. You will need to use a third-party application to do this or copy it to an external drive like a USB memory stick.
If you have an IT company, please contact them for advice on how to back up your photo data in the NICEIC Cert Software.
To find the location of where your photos are backed up go to Edit > Settings > Photos.
The download location of your photo data is shown here, which is the location you need to back up. You can also open the location by clicking the popup icon next to ‘Download location’.
There are a few ways you can back this folder up.
Move the photos folder location
You can change the photo location to a folder that is always backed up, but if you do, make sure the folder is shared so photos can be downloaded to that location from other users.
You will also need to ensure the photos folder has been copied from the original location to the new one. You can do this by dragging and dropping it from one folder to the new one, as below.
To configure the location in your settings, click on the search folder icon and select a new location. For example, I have chosen my pictures folder that is backed up to OneDrive which has the ‘Photos’ folder I copied from the old location.
Using external hard drives or USBs
Another way is to leave it in the current location and copy the ‘photos’ folder to an external hard drive or USB Stick.
Please be aware that this would have to be manual unless you have a third-party backup solution that will do this automatically for you.
To do this, find the photos folder location by going to Edit > Settings > Photos.
The download location of your photo data is shown here, you can also open the location by clicking the button.
Now copy the ‘Photos’ folder and then paste it to your external drive.
