Meet Ollie
I normally start my day by spending the first 30 minutes in bed scrolling through my phone to wake me up, then I have a coffee, brush my teeth and hop in the car to drive to work.
Usually, I get to work 20 minutes early and I head straight to the kitchen to grab another coffee. I then sit down at my desk and double-check what I have to do for the day.
I am a Technical Support Analyst for Clik Software, so my job is to help our customers who need a bit of assistance using our software.
My typical day consists of coming to work and checking over what I have to do, which includes continuing to help customers with existing issues, as well as assisting anyone else who may need my help. I then go for lunch and repeat the same in the afternoon.
We mostly work in a team! If a customer has a problem, I would be the one who helps them but if I also need assistance, everyone is there to help everyone, so we are constantly learning from each other.
My lunch can differ, sometimes I’ll bring in lunch from home or if I’m being lazy (like most days) I’ll pop to Aldi or the bakery to grab some food. I usually head back to my desk where I mute everything and watch a video or a program whilst eating.
My favourite part of the job is that every single person I work with is a legend, which can be rare. There’s not one person in this office that makes my job harder and I love it. Also, sometimes we get free food.
At the end of the day, I hop in the car to head home, stick my speaker on and listen to my favourite podcast ‘No Such Thing as a Fish’, it’s amazing! When I get home, I usually make dinner, maybe go to the pub to play pool and have a pint or game online with friends.
I have a few favourite things. My favourite book is ‘The Theory of Everything Else’ by Dan Schreiber.
The ‘Lord of the Rings’ trilogy are my favourite films, but mostly the ‘Return of the King.’
My music taste differs. It can range anywhere from Frank Sinatra and Miles Davis to Ed Sheeran, Mötley Crüe and Catfish and the Bottlemen. To be honest, if the song is good, it doesn’t matter what genre it is. Right now, my go-to is rock, like AC/DC, Bruce Springsteen and The Who.
I have two favourite albums, ‘A Grand Don’t Come for Free’ by the Streets, and ‘Born in the U.S.A,’ by Bruce Springsteen.
Honestly, this may sound corny but when it comes to my favourite food, my mum’s homemade bacon and lentil soup with cheesy garlic bread is beautiful! Every time I go home to visit, I demolish it!
There are only three things that I do not leave home without: my keys, wallet and phone. Anything else is just unnecessary.
See how Ollie got on during Clik’s first-ever hot sauce challenge!
