You and your electricians can fill out their entire certificates offline and issue draft PDFs with certification apps. We’ll be showing you how Clik Cert Electrical can take your electrical certification to the next level and some of the top features it has to do just that.
What is Clik Cert Electrical?
Clik Cert Electrical are the field options for the NICEIC Cert Software. It works alongside the main office software and is compatible with iOS (including iPads and iPhones) and Android devices to make electrical certification easy.
The apps allow site teams to fill out their NICEIC certificates offline, on the move, quickly and easily. All applications are stocked with the latest 18th edition certificates complying with Amendment 2 (BS 7671:2018+A2:2022).
Clik Cert Electrical is also available on Windows. The Windows compatible software gives your engineers the option to access their certificates on their laptops when they are onsite. You may have heard this previously called ‘Field Mode’.
We’ll be having a closer look at the apps and what features they have.
What Can the Certificate Apps Do?
The app allows you to create and fill in electrical certificates offline when onsite. With the certification apps, your engineers can fill in all their electrical test results on their own device, removing the need for loose paperwork and disorganised notebooks.
You can capture your client’s digital signature onto the device, add circuits and email the draft directly to the customer. Send the certificates back to the desktop software in the office, complete them and deliver them to your customers.
Not only is this method quick and efficient, but it also saves you money and resources. No more printing pages of documents or wasting hours typing up work later.
Top Electrical Certification App Features
There are plenty of intuitive features in the Clik Cert Electrical apps to make it easy to create, edit and manage your electrical certificates. Here are some of our favourites we think are particularly useful:
1. Works completely offline
Despite being in the age of 4G and 5G, there are always going to be times when you don’t have internet access on your device. Perhaps you don’t have enough data or the signal isn’t strong enough when onsite. You’re not always going to have a reliable internet connection, but that doesn’t have to stop your work.
Clik Cert Electrical continues to work when you’re offline, so your work is uninterrupted even if you’re in the middle of nowhere. Create new certs, fill in the relevant test results and capture client details.
With the address book, you’ll have the details you need, without having to re-type out the same information. It also works per user, so you only need to store the client details you need for your own electrical work.
2. Speedy uploading
We know time is precious when on a job. Every minute saved on admin can add up, giving you more time to do the real work.
When you’ve added all the relevant details and the test results are recorded, it’s time to upload the certificate back to the desktop software. This doesn’t have to be a complicated process. Just a couple of taps on your device when connected to the internet and the certificate is on its way back to the office.
Not only does this solution save time on site, but it also speeds up the entire job for your office team. No need to wait for physical certificates to return to the office with the electrician, who could be miles away for multiple jobs. Get the certificate synced, downloaded, completed and sent to your client in minutes.
We’re also working on a new feature for the apps to allow users to complete certificates when onsite. Cloud numbering is not available yet, but you can find information about it here. If you’re interested in beta testing the new feature, please get in touch.
3. Saving and emailing certificates
Sometimes, you might feel like you don’t have enough time to get everything done. When rushed or desperate for time, it’s easy to make mistakes. The key is to use tools that can help get the work done without cutting corners. Speeding up work doesn’t mean losing your usual business standards.
If you’re onsite, the Clik Cert Electrical apps can help you fill in NICEIC certificate details. They also give you the option to easily email and save your certificates. Your clients can then receive the draft certificate then and there, without having to wait for you to get back to the office.
This way, you can speed up the job, without sacrificing the quality. A brilliant option if you are a smaller business or a qualified supervisor.
4. Easy-to-use templates
Templates are everywhere, particularly in software.
They’re a big part of speeding up repeated processes, such as filling in client details on certificates. You can turn any of your certificates into templates so you can use them again in the future.
Perhaps you need to perform work at a particular site and complete condition reports on an annual basis. Using templates makes it easier for you and your team when it comes to the next visit. Create a new certificate from the template and you’ve got data ready to go.
From the main office software, you can sync specific templates to your field engineers to then use on their devices. This way, they’ve got access to the data they need, without having to spend type typing it all out when onsite.
5. Simplified circuits
Every process of filling in certificates should be streamlined. That includes filling in circuit details and observations.
Clik Cert Electrical has simplified circuit details and observations pages, so you don’t have to scroll back and forth to fill in the details for each circuit. You can view more information at once, making it easier to check your work as you go.
6. Automatic Max Zs calculation
With varying protective devices and different values for your circuits, it can be difficult to manually calculate the correct Max Zs, particularly when you’re onsite and don’t have the latest regulation guide at hand. No one wants to spend ages trying to find the right value for a specific fuse, thankfully, electrical certificate software takes that manual process out of the equation.
As you work through each circuit row and add the appropriate values, the apps work their magic and automatically calculate the max permitted Zs for you. No need to spend time searching and no need to add values based on memory alone.
