Clik Jobs is our job sheet mobile app for iOS and Android. It works alongside our central service management software, Clik Service, to give your engineers access to their job sheets on their devices when offline.
We released a faster sync for sending mobile job sheets between Clik Service and Clik Jobs. This means your engineers get their work faster and results in more efficient use of time onsite.
If you’re new to Clik Jobs or haven’t heard of the new sync before, this blog post is for you. We’ll be taking a look at what the sync is and why you should be using the faster sync solution.
What is the Clik Jobs Sync?
The Clik Jobs sync is the process of sending job sheets from Clik Service over to your engineers using the apps. If you have a job sheet in Clik Service you want your field users to access you will need to sync it to the cloud. Then they’ll be able to download the job on their device when required.
How Do I Know if I’m on the New Sync?
We’ve been busy upgrading Clik Jobs users to the new sync over the last two years. But we know we still have some on the original sync.
If you’re new to Clik Jobs, you might already be on the newer sync. But if you’re curious and want to see which sync version you’re currently using, you can view it in your main Clik Service office program.
First, you will need to make sure you are running Clik Service update v2.341 r47 or higher. If you’re not, ask all users to log out and go to ‘help’ and click on ‘check for updates’ to update to the available version.
Once updated, you can check the sync version by going to ‘help’ in the top menu. If you are not on the newer sync, it will notify you here that there is a new sync available for you. If you need to upgrade, submit your details and our support team will be in touch to arrange a suitable time.
Benefits of the New Sync
We released a newer version of the sync process to help improve sync times and make it even easier to get work over to your engineers onsite. Some of the top benefits of the new sync include:
- Faster sync times
- Access to all the newest features
- Connection with Clik Cert
Let’s dive into each of these in a bit more detail and explain why you should be using it.
1. Faster sync times
The biggest difference you’ll be able to see when using the newer sync is the speed improvements.
Back when Clik Jobs was first released, internet speeds and online connections were not as intuitive as they are now. Nowadays, we expect web pages to load instantly and give us the information we need in seconds.
We understand that it can be frustrating if it takes a long time to send and download a job sheet, and that’s why we made the process a lot more streamlined. The new sync is a lot more stable and will drastically drop the average sync time.
This is a big plus for larger companies that have multiple engineers to send to every day. Those job sheets might have up to 10 action lists and pieces of equipment attached before sending them to the cloud. This enhancement advances your productivity and ensures you don’t have to wait around to get started on your next job.
2. Get all the newest features
Our focus for Clik Jobs is now on the newer sync. This means that any new features, bug fixes and improvements will only be available when using the newer sync. It allows us to put bigger and more intuitive features into the app, without affecting the user’s experience.
We’ll be taking a look at action lists in Clik Service and will be adding new action list options for capturing data. Action lists help you track tasks and ensure your engineers complete certain actions as part of a job. These new action list options will also be accessible in Clik Jobs, so your engineers can tick off tasks as and when they are complete.
Another upcoming feature involving action lists will be the ability to add action lists to equipment. This further brings your work together. It ensures tasks associated with specific equipment are completed when the equipment is linked to a job.
3. Connect with certification software
Using the faster Clik Jobs sync also means you can use the shared database option. This way, you can take advantage of Clik Cert gas certificates and bespoke certificates and link them to your database.
With the shared database solution, you can bring together Clik Service and Clik Jobs with our certification systems. This links every part of your business together – your customers, equipment, job sheets and certificates.
The shared database allows you to use one address book across both Clik Cert and Clik Service. You don’t need to worry about duplicated customer data or having to copy and paste details from one program to the other.
What does this mean for Clik Jobs? It means that the clients and site addresses you send to your engineers will be the same across all systems. Your CRM can record every job sheet and certificate related to a client in one place. If a job links with a gas or bespoke certificate, you’ll also be able to view that from within the job sheet.
