Meet Ben
My day starts with a brisk bike ride down to Clik Towers in South Bristol, navigating all the other commuters through the busy city centre.
My role as a Business Development Manager means I spend a fair amount of time discussing different sorts of queries with customers, taking payments for new licences and guiding new customers through online demonstrations of our flagship product, Clik Service.
When I arrive in the office, my first port of call is the coffee machine to make sure I have a strong cup of tea. A typical start to the day would see me checking on any emails that came through the night before, scheduling online demonstrations and catching up with existing customers.
The best part of my job is seeing customers grow and expand their business by hiring more engineers, as they’ve been able to save time and money thanks to software implementation.
Around 10:30am I would attend to my first demo that I have booked in for that day. During this time, I will have a discussion with the prospect to find out what they are looking to achieve with the software. I will then spend the next hour or so showing them how Clik Service will help them with any issues they may have.
My lunch routine usually consists of 30 – 45 minutes in the local gym, followed by eating my lunch whilst watching whatever I am currently following on Netflix.
I will then continue to work on my sales pipeline before going on to my second online demonstration at 3pm. Towards the end of the day, I will work on LinkedIn for a while, engaging with prospective customers and sending out trials of the software.
I will often listen to dance music to keep my toes tapping whilst chatting to customers through our online chat or over LinkedIn. My favourite album changes all the time, but I’m currently enjoying ‘Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino’ by Arctic Monkeys.
In the last half hour at 5pm, I will usually wrap up the day with any left-over admin tasks and set out my diary for the following day.
At the end of the day, I’ll ride home and help get dinner sorted for my daughter – my favourite food being my homemade Caribbean Jerk chicken – followed by having relaxed downtime and playing the piano. My favourite book is The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August and favourite film is Drive.
See how Ben got on during Clik’s first-ever hot sauce challenge!
