Meet Rory
I start my day taking the scenic route to work, which is about a 40 minute walk.
I tend to get into the office for about 20 past 8 and make a dash for the kitchen to put my lunch in the fridge (I never leave home without my lunch) and prepare my first dose of all-important caffeine. Armed with a strong cup of tea, I then get stuck in with testing our products.
I’m part of the tech team, where we all work together to make sure we’re there for our customers when they need us. I’m one of those guys who spends his time trying to break our software so that it doesn’t break for our customers.
Normally, my lunch break will be around 1ish. I generally just sit at my desk to eat my lunch (usually just a sandwich and some chocolate, nothing fancy) and spend the time chatting to my wife or dabbling in a foreign language, these days it tends to be mostly Korean.
My favourite part of working at Clik is the people I get to spend my time with, and the customers. It’s rare to work somewhere I’m afforded to know the names of everyone I work with; it’s a refreshing change from previous roles.
Around 5:00, I’ll make sure to wrap up anything I’m actively working on and take a leisurely stroll back home.
When back at home, around 20 to 6, I’ll spend my evenings practising my German, Japanese, or Korean, or I’ll play some games instead.
I generally tend to listen to random playlists of music these days. I listen to most types of music, but rock, indie and K-pop tend to be my go-to these days (thank the wife for the last one!)
My favourite book is IT by Stephen King, which also happens to be the first King book I ever read, so holds plenty of nostalgia. My favourite film is The Green Mile and Paella is the best thing I’ve ever eaten.
