Mitsubishi 'Cliks' with Bristol software firm
Southville-based software company Clik Ltd has been awarded a prestigious contract from a division of multinational company Mitsubishi.
Under the contract Clik will develop a programme to help engineers that design air conditioning systems manufactured by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI).
The process of designing systems can be very time-consuming and require complex mathematical calculations to make them as work as effectively as possible. Getting it right is vital - for every degree that a system deviates from the required temperature, energy costs can increase by up to five per cent.
Clik’s new software tool aims to make designing and building systems quicker, simpler and more efficient. It will also ensure they are built in line with the manufacturer’s guidelines.
According to Geoff Adams, Managing Director of Clik Ltd, winning the contract is a real coup: "Clik has worked for many years with several air conditioning manufacturers and we are delighted to be working with such a successful and prestigious company as Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
“Since we developed our first product for the air conditioning industry in 1994, our reputation as a specialist has spread. In fact we’re very lucky that they come to find us!”
David Lettis, UK Sales Manager from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries said: “We had heard about Clik’s work in developing software for the industry and had been impressed by their AC Calc product for calculating heat gains and losses.
“They were therefore a natural choice when we were looking for a partner to work with us.”
The new software will first be developed and tested in English. MHI will then consider translating it and releasing it across Europe.
