Investors in People

Happy workplace as local firm, Clik achieves Investors in People recognition

Staff at Southville-based software development firm, Clik Ltd, are happier in their workplace thanks to improvements in the firm’s culture and workplace. The firm, which has been working towards the prestigious Investors in People Standard for the past six months, has just been awarded the accreditation.

“The changes we have implemented have already resulted in improved sales, boosted staff morale and a more focused team,” says Geoff Adams, Managing Director. “With better procedures all round, clear objectives for the staff and the company, everyone feels more involved and connected with the company.”

Clik has completely overhauled its appraisal process with staff being set clear objectives. It also now conducts three monthly reviews to see how staff are getting on and where improvements can be made or support given.

“We work with sole traders and small businesses offering a unique business management package that helps run their operations more efficiently. Our product Clik Service is the only business management package available that helps you control every aspect of business, from contact management and job sheets through to producing the sales invoice,” says Geoff. “The Investors in People Standard is our way of improving the parts of the company that help us get where we want to be.”

As well as the more formal improvement to internal procedures and processes, Clik places huge importance on rewarding its staff’s efforts. People finish work early on a Friday and go to the bar for a few drinks, all paid for by the boss. And if staff are working well as a company, they are often all taken out for meals.

“Clik is a wonderful place to work,” says Marketing Executive April Boulton. “I feel appreciated for the job I do and am frequently thanked for my efforts.”

Clik is also now offering its staff more training. This training is passed on within the company and all staff are benefiting from the improved knowledge process. Staff are supported in their efforts to attain their objectives, including ‘buddying up’ with colleagues to help them fly through new challenges. They are also kept informed of what is happening in other parts of the business through weekly meetings.
